Nancy Marie Walsh, 59, of Pennymeadow Walk, died Saturday evening at Maine Medical Center in Portland following a short illness. She was born in Bridgeport, CT on April 29, 1948, the daughter of Chester Frank and Betty Marie (French) Hulse. Nancy grew up in Milford, CT, graduating from Jonathan Law High School, Class of 1967.

On August 19, 1972, she married James Walsh in Milford, CT. She accompanied her husband for 22 years during his Air Force career at 9 different bases around the country.

Nancy was employed by Hannaford in the Wells store as a Customer Service representative for almost 10 years.

She was a communicant and Eucharistic Minister at St. Mary’s Parish, where she was active in the faith formation program. Nancy was also a member of the Wells Music Boosters.

She enjoyed knitting, traveling, and playing Bunco.

Nancy was pre-deceased by her mother, Betty Hulse.

Survivors include: her loving husband, James of Wells; her son, James Robert Walsh of Wells; 2 daughters: Jennifer Marie Walsh of Fitchburg, MA, and Sarah Eileen Hamlyn of Wells; her father, Chester F. Hulse of Palmetto, FL; her sister, Audrey Owens of Palmetto, FL; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, May 8, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 111 Chapel Road, Wells. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 9, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 236 Eldridge Road, Wells. Burial will follow in Ocean View Cemetery, Wells. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made in her memory to: St. Mary’s Food Pantry, 236 Eldridge Road, Wells, ME 04090, or a charity of your choice. Arrangements under the direction of Bibber Memorial Chapel, 111 Chapel Road, Wells.
