Patricia Ann Scott, 63 years, a resident of Kennebunkport, Maine, died after a brief illness on Friday, December 10, 2010. She was born in Wyandotte, Michigan on September 8, 1947 and grew up in Wayne, Michigan. She spent many of her early years cruising Woodward Avenue and enjoying Daly Burgers with friends. A year after graduating from Wayne Memorial High School, Patricia met and married Denis Scott. Pat and Denis spent many years traveling from Michigan to Cape Cod with their two young daughters to enjoy yearly summer vacations on the New England coast. In 1979 they relocated to Kennebunkport, Maine to raise their family. After many happy years and with their daughters grown, Pat and Denis began enjoying frequent vacations to England and Ireland. These trips provided especially fond memories for Pat.
Professionally, Pat spent the last twelve years working as the general manager for an export company. It was through this work that Pat made lasting friendships with co-workers around the world.
Pat will be remembered for her beautiful gardens which enveloped her home. She was also a hockey fan, particularly of the Detroit Red Wings, and an avid reader. Her greatest passion was her family. “Nana” will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Pat is the daughter of the late William Hawthorne and L. Geneva Hawthorne Holt. She is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Denis, her two daughters, Kim Vieira of Kennebunk, Maine, and Robin Tripp and her husband, James Tripp, of Limington, Maine. She was especially proud of her five grandchildren, Jeremy Tripp, Alyssa Vieira, Thomas Tripp, Jeffrey Vieira and Emily Vieira. She is also survived by a sister, Christie Holt of Royal Oak, Michigan.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the staff at Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford and Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough for their kindness and care.
