Condolence: Frank has known Johnnie since before they went to school. I remember him from about the 6th grade when we sang together. Johnnie was always a good hearted guy & always smiling. The world was a better place with him in it. We'll never forget you, Johnnie.

Condolence: I first met Jen's Dad on the day of Jen & Jerry's wedding. I immediately liked him and felt welcomed by him. He had a terrific sense of humor and I enjoyed speaking with him then and the few times after when I had the privilege to do so. It's a measure of a person the kinds of memories they leave with the people they meet. By any measure, he was a good man and will be missed. I am glad I met him.

Condolence: We've lost another great and honorable man. A very good friend of my Dad who suffered the same battles in Vietnam and then here at home with health issues due to Agent Orange exposure. We spoke on the phone in September and cried about my Dad. I'm so glad I got to see him and Judy last week and get a big hug. He told me he'd been seeing my Dad soon and that he'd tell him I sent my love. <3 It's not fair, you both were too young to go. Thank you for your service, your sacrifices and for being a great man. You will be missed. XOXO

Condolence: It was such an honor getting to meet Johnnie as Paul introduced us this summer. I just knew I had to meet the gentleman my husband spoke of so highly of and gave his highest respect to. I will never forget the loving spark in his eyes, the light around his beautiful heart & soul. Johnnie's lovely words of wisdom to me personally. I will honor Johnnie's words and promises he asked from me and I gave to you Johnnie the day we met. All the wonderful stories Paul has shared with me about how wonderful you are. You will truly be misses by all the many that love you so dearly. You are living on in the hearts of many. I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories. We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love. Leo Buscaglia Wishing you peace to bring comfort, courage to face the days ahead and loving memories to forever hold in your hearts. Please accept our most heartfelt sympathies for your loss…our thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time. Sincerely, Jennifer

Condolence: So many great memories my childhood and long time friend of hunting, fishing, school and more. I remember that time you flew down to Texas for the Veteran's convention with V.P. George Bush. You and I talked that night on the phone. Growing up across the street from one another back when was a treat. What a great time for us to have and enjoy growing up in Kennebunk. Some of crazy things we did like riding on the fenders of Timmy's old Oldsmobile up and down your long driveway. No one ever got hurt, but he did get the car stuck once as I recall. My condolences to your family and now you can R.I.P. from that awful cancer. Keep a light on for the rest of us.

Condolence: I met Johnnie 25 years ago. It seemed like we had been friends forever. He was always so positive about life. I commented on one of his service caps one time and we talked a bit about his service. I always admired his outlook. He always wanted to know how I was doing. I will miss him. Our nation has lost a hero.

Condolence: Johnnie was a big brother to me when we were kids running around Nana's house. He taught me to shoot, hunt and nearly drowned me on my first snowmobile ride. As we got older we drifted apart. He went in the Army, and later I went in the Army. I have looked up to him all my life, and will miss him terribly.

Condolence: Junkyard Johnnie.....where do I start? You have always been a huge part of our family and I can already feel the void. I have been blessed with a wonderful Dad and doubly blessed to have you as another father to me. No matter when or where, we began our visit with a hug and kiss, we always laughed a lot and said farewell with another big hug and kiss. I cherish the "smooch" you gave me in the hospital last week. There was nothing we couldn't talk about and you gave the best advice, especially to Matt. Thank you for loving us and allowing us to love you. Rest in Peace, my favorite Veteran. xoxoxo

Condolence: I am so sorry to hear of Johnnies passing. He was definitely a man that was loved by all. I am so proud to say that I knew this gentleman for many, many years. God will accept Johnnie with open arms, for he is a true hero. Rest in peace Johnnie! Love you Judy and family. I'll never forget the time I saw the two of you at Teds this past summer, when I came over and gave him a big hug, he told me that when I felt a touch to my cheek it would be him telling me everything was okay! I am waiting for that touch and I know someday we we meet again I will feel that touch, Johnnie always kept his word. My love tall of the Martel family
