Kennebunk

Fr. Gabriel (Joseph) Baltrusaitis, O.F.M., 92, died in Florida on January 16, 2017 while visiting relatives. He was born in Scranton, PA on September 10, 1924, became a Franciscan on August 13, 1948, and was ordained on June 20, 1954. After his seminary days and studies, he was stationed in Kennebunk from 1956 to 1969, St. George’s parish in Rochester, N.Y. from 1973-1979, and from 1985 to 2000, he administered the Franciscan Guest House in Kennebunk.

Fr. Gabriel is survived by a nephew and a niece.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 8:00 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Monastery, 28 Beach Avenue, Kennebunk. Burial will be on Monday, February 6, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in St. John’s Cemetery, Brooklyn-Queens, N.Y.
