Obituary for Gerald Roy "Butch" Cluff Sr.

Gerald Roy Cluff, Sr. ‘Butch’, 71 years of Wells, ME died March 28, 2017 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough surrounded by his loving family.

Butch was born July 17, 1945 in Saco, ME, a son of Roy and Ruth (Emmons) Cluff. Butch graduated from Kennebunk High School and started working in his father’s fish market. He later worked at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Port Lobster, Preble Fish and most recently for his brother and best friend, Doug, at DC Towing. On August 5, 1989 Butch married Lucinda ‘Cindy’ Mary Marston.

Butch loved spending time with his family, especially his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also enjoyed hunting and riding with his friends on their motorcycles. Butch was a member of the Wells Elks Lodge #2738.

He was predeceased by his son Jerry, Jr. in 2013.

Butch is lovingly remembered by his wife, Lucinda ‘Cindy’ Cluff; his daughters, Jude Cluff and her husband, Lance Graham, of Hollis and Jaye Cluff and her spouse, Miranda Carey, of Limerick; his stepdaughter, Brandy Senecal and her husband, Luke, of Acton; his stepsons, Raymond Therrien, Jr. and his wife, Michelle, of Kennebunk and Nicholas Ericson of East Acton; his sisters, Grace Cole of Standish and Edith Richards and her husband, Mark, of Buxton; his brothers, Douglas Cluff and his wife, Paula, of Kennebunk, Donald Cluff and his wife Marsha, of Kennebunk and Robert Cluff Kaler and his spouse, Ted Kaler, of Land O’ Lakes, FL; 15 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit on Saturday, April 1, 2017 from 1-3 pm at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer Street, Kennebunk, ME. A Memorial Service will immediately follow at 3 pm at Bibber Memorial Chapel with Rev. Carolyn Lambert. Interment will be held in Arundel Cemetery later in the summer.
