Arthur R. ‘Dick’ Bates, Jr., 74, of Bridgewater, MA. and Lyman, ME. beloved husband of Sandi (Spilling) Bates, died Tuesday, August 9, 2022. He was born in Quincy, MA., the son of the late Arthur and Jetta (Munnick) Bates, Sr.
Dick a U.S. Air Force veteran, lived in Bridgewater, MA. since 1973 and summered in Lyman for many, many years.
Dick along with his wife Sandi, owned and operated AGM Automotive, in Whitman and West Bridgewater, MA from 1980-2003. A lover of music and a drummer, he attended the Lutheran Church of the Way, Raynham, Mass.
Besides his wife Sandi, Dick leaves two daughters Shelley and her husband Brian Rebello of Barnstable, MA, Kimberly and her husband Kevin Stanton of Bridgewater, MA; two sisters Linda Sullivan of Dunnellon, FL, Jetta McMahon of N. Berwick, ME and four grandchildren Calista Stanton, Kevin Stanton, Colby Rebello and Jeremy Rebello.
Besides his parents, Dick was predeceased by a brother Garry Bates.
Graveside services will be Friday, August 26, 2022, 2 PM at the Southern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Springvale, ME.
