Obituary for Barbara H. Goldman

Barbara H. Goldman
BARBARA H. GOLDMAN
BORN 09/07/1931. DIED 10/03/2020
Barbara peacefully passed away on Saturday at Southern Maine Medical Center of natural causes. She was comforted through her transition by her daughter Jody Goldman and her long time dear friend Stuart Taylor.
Barbara was born in Boston, the only child of Martin and Evelyn (Goldberg) Broitman. She was raised in Revere, MA until her marriage moved her to Kennebunk, Maine in 1952.
While raising her daughters Jody and Amy, she discovered her passion for friends, music, crossword puzzles, storytelling, sharing a good joke and her lifelong hunt for the ultimate bargain, that hunt led her to a successful career in retail.
Her family and friends were her entire world. Barbara surrounded herself with a very special eclectic diverse group of intimate friends. Those people gave her life purpose, and filled her with as much love as she gave and more.
She wanted people to feel as special as they made of her feel. When she moved to Ogunquit, she found it more than a community…it was her family.
She was compelled to make those she loved and those she just met, feel welcomed and warm and that came very easy to her. Even though she was a snappy dresser, always aware of her appearance and always looked like a lady, she was first to deliver an off colored joke or limerick!
Whether sharing joy or crisis, she was always on point. Truthful, articulate, engaged, loving and always caring. If she loved you she wanted everyone to love you.
She will be terribly missed by her Amy and Jody, friends, and all who came to know her and make her part of their family.
In honor of her spirit, a celebration of her life will take place at a later date when we can share her many stories of her life so she can live on in our hearts forever.
She is predeceased by her parents, Martin and Evelyn (Goldberg) Broitman, her numerous Aunts and Uncles, and dear friends.
