Beverly Lucia Mathews 94 years a resident of School Street Berwick died Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Beverly was born January 1, 1926 in Ossipee, NH on January 1, 1926 a daughter of Harold and Helen (Conner) Hodsdon. Beverly grew up in Ossipee and graduated from Spaulding High School, Rochester, NH. After High School, she attended Nursing School for several years. She was a Registered Nurse for Boston Children’s Hospital and Brigham Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA for several years then returned to Rochester, NH where she met Philip Mathews and moved to Berwick, ME.
Beverly enjoyed cooking, gardening, arts and crafts and especially spending time with her family and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents and her husband Philip J. Mathews.
She is survived by her daughter Margaret M. Mathews of Portsmouth, NH; her son Robert E. Mathews of Berwick and one grandson Tyler E. Mathews.
A graveside service will be held at 11 AM, Thursday October 15, 2020 at Evergreen Cemetery, Cemetery Road Berwick, Maine. Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, face masks will be required.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Jimmy Fund
