Obituary for Cynthia Adams Joyce

Cynthia Adams Joyce, 75, of Maine St, died suddenly at her home May 15, 2021.

Cynthia was born March 30, 1946 in Sewickley, PA, the daughter of Welling Wyckoff and Helen Collin Adams, and is a graduate of Buffalo Seminary High School and Wells College in Aurora, NY.

After graduating from Wells College she lived in New York City and devoted her time to raising her only child, Cameron, with her since deceased husband L. Van V. Dauler Jr. While in New York, she was employed as a paralegal and managed a high end shoe store. She spent her last 30 years in Kennebumkport as a real estate agent with the former Jean Knapp agency and most recently managed Keys to the Kitchen for 5 years.

She was an avid reader, enjoyed architecture, home design, and watching old movies. She was a community philanthropist contributing regularly to local charities. She will be remembered for her infectious laughter, giving nature, and unfaultering friendship to those around her.

She is survived by her son Cameron Dauler and his wife Holly O’Shea, three grandchildren Hodge, Addison and Coe, all of Happy Valley, OR, and two brothers, David and Chris Adams of Kennebunkport, Maine and Sanbornton, New Hampshire.

A private celebration will be held later in the summer.
