Obituary for Deirdre Louise Clare (O'Brien)

Berwick, Maine

Deirdre Louise Clare, 61 years, a resident of Berwick, ME formerly of Winchester, MA, died unexpectedly on Friday, March 5, 2021 at her home.

She was born in Winchester, MA on September 21,1959, a daughter of Robert G. and Carol A. (McCarthy) O’Brien and graduated from Winchester High School, the class 1978.

In her early years, Deirdre has owned horses since she was a child, and it was one of her most enjoyed hobbies that she shared with us kids and her grandkids.

She was a stay-at-home mom to her children and then worked as a bank teller. Deirdre ran her own home cleaning business for several years and also worked at Pinnacle Nursing Home (formerly of Varney Nursing Home) of North Berwick as CNA for several years.

She enjoyed cooking and baking as well as gardening with her daughters. Her greatest joy was raising her family.

Deirdre was a wonderful, caring wife, mother nana, sister aunt and friend to many.



She was predeceased by her parents.

Deirdre is survived by her husband of 31 years, Arthur Clare of Berwick, ME; her children, Jennifer Hall and her significant other, Michael Brady of Winchester, MA and their children, Seamus, Kaileigh and Danielle Brady; Kristina Hall and her significant other David Hill of Winchester, MA and their children Bryana, Emily and Bobby; John Clare and his wife Samantha Clare of Berwick, and their children, John II and Julie Clare; and Jacqueline Clare of Berwick and her daughter, Ava Lynn. She also survived by her step-daughter, Jennifer Clare and her daughter Cede of Billerica, MA; two brothers Mark A. O’Brien of Woburn, MA, Kevin O’ Brien of Woburn, MA and sister Adrienne G. Newcomb of Wells, ME and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visiting hours will be held Saturday, March 13, 2021 from 11 AM to 2:00 PM at the Laing-Bibber Funeral Chapel, 36 Rochester Street Berwick, ME, followed by private funeral to be held at the Bible Speaks Church, South Berwick, ME. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Berwick in the Spring.
Masks will be required to meet the Covid 19 requirements.
