KENNEBUNK, ME.

Delphine “Del” J. Budreau, a long-time resident of Kennebunk, Maine, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford, Maine due to complications from COVID-19. She was 86 years old.

Delphine was born in Rogers City, Michigan on July 8, 1934, a daughter of Stanley and Mary Jachcik. She married in 1952 and moved to Connecticut where she worked as a secretary for many years at Pratt & Whitney, East Hartford, CT and the East Hartford CT School Department. In 1980, Del moved to Kennebunk where she became a realtor. Del also volunteered at the local library, church, funeral home, and at Southern Maine Health Care. She enjoyed sewing, reading, gardening, and travelling – in particular, her trips to Africa and Iceland.

Del, (“Nene” to her family) was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Frank J. Budreau; two brothers, Nicholas Matwiyoff and Stanley Jachcik, Jr.; and two sisters, Romayne Greene and Uldine Bellmore.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Mitchell, her grandson, Cal Mitchell (and girlfriend, Maria)
(Massachusetts); a brother, Delbert Jachcik (Sterling Heights, Michigan); and her “angels-on-earth” – niece, Lynn Hall (and grand-nieces, Regina and Julie) (Hollis, Maine); niece, Pamela Proctor (Kennebunkport, Maine), and goddaughter, Lil Lagasse and family (Wells, Maine); as well as many more nieces and nephews that she held dear and friends and neighbors whom she cherished deeply.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private graveside service is planned at Hope Cemetery in Kennebunk.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Martha’s Church, Holy Spirit Parish, 30 Portland Road, Kennebunk, ME 04043

Del was a wonderful next door neighbor to us for the last 23 years. She was so kind and seemed to always have a smile on her face. We often saw her out working in her yard and enjoyed visiting with her. She graciously allowed us to store our lawn mower and some other items in her shed so our garage would be less crowded! We will miss her and wish her family many good memories from a life well lived. Rich and Barbara Horner

Delphine was one of the sweetest persons I have ever known, I met her in the 80's when she was a Realtor with Cole Harrison Real Estate. We co-broked several transactions. Overtime she became a dear friend, Kennebunk has lost truly a wonderful, kind and loving resident. I will miss her beloved smile. May you rest in peace. I know you zoomed up to heaven and are spreading love up there!

My condolences to Del's daughter and her family for having lost such positive force of nature in your lives. I will always remember Del as being eager to share a laugh or unending trove of jokes with an ever-present wide smile, always enjoying her friends and colleagues. This is a loss to the Kennebunks as Del epitomized the Maine spirit of volunteering and giving to her community that she and Frank loved so much.
