Obituary for Dennis K. Dalton

Dennis K. Dalton, 74, of Kennebunk, ME, died November 10, 2019 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough from long term health issues. He was born in Franklin, NH, the son of Stanley Albra Dalton and Marjorie Ann Joyce of Kennebunk, ME.

Dennis was a loyal and patriotic man who served his country for over 25 years in the U.S. Army Reserves as a Sgt. First Class and was a service technician by civilian trade. He was a faithful Christian man as an active member in his church, St. Martha’s in Kennebunk and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the American Legion. He was a lifetime resident of Kennebunk and a graduate of Kennebunk High and DeVry Institute.

Dennis is survived by his loving wife of over 51 years, Carol Ann (Yoho) Dalton; son, Bryan and his wife, Karen; sisters, Donna Harmon, Debbie Clough, and Kelly Normand; Bryan and Karen’s four children, Owen, Austin, Ethan, and Callie; and many extended family members and friends.

Dennis was a quiet man who loved his family. He loved children and God gave him the opportunity to meet his 8 week old grandson before he was called home. He enjoyed being playful and funny, a gift he shared with his immediate and extended family. He was lovingly referred to as “Uncle Denny” by his nieces and nephews. He enjoyed going to antique and old car and truck shows. He was an avid fan of the New England Patriots.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 15, 2019 at St. Martha’s Catholic Church in Kennebunk, followed by a committal service with military honors at 2:00 PM at Southern Maine Veteran’s Cemetery in Springvale.

In lieu of flowers, you may donate in Dennis’ memory to: A Place to Start at www.aplacetostartfordementia.org or 41 Main St., Unit 2, Kennebunk, ME 04043, to offer other local families the feeling of community support that was shared with Dennis and Carol.
