Obituary for Elinor Hutchins Brooks
Elinor Hutchins Brooks, 84, of Kennebunk, passed away April 18, 2023. She was born May 10, 1938 in Biddeford and attended Kennebunk schools growing up.
Elinor worked as a Homemaker while raising her 5 children, Stitcher at Port Canvas, and Cashier at Bradbury Brother’s Market for a number of years. She was very spirited, a fighter, and a hard worker. All with a sharp sense of humor. She was very proud of her vegetable gardens. She was a talented seamstress and knitter who also loved to read and complete jigsaw puzzles.
Elinor was preceded in death by: her parents, Harrison and Mary (Thompson) Hutchins; husband, Everett J. Brooks; son, Jay S. Brooks; and brother, Maurice Hutchins. She is lovingly survived by: her children, Lee H. Brooks of Kennebunk, Eric J. Brooks and his wife, Julie of Gray, Stacey A. Brooks of Kennebunk, and Deanna L. Michaud of Newfield; brother, Brian Hutchins of Kennebunk; sister in law, Patricia Hutchins of Kennebunkport; and granddaughters, Ashley Brooks of Lyman and Tori Brooks of VT.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, April 24, 2023 at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer St., Kennebunk with interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Kennebunk.
