Obituary for Isabel Gillian Dare Hauser
Isabel Gillian Dare Hauser, daughter of Bryan and Emma Hauser, was born on March 25, 2000 in New York City, along with her triplet siblings, Alice and Brandon. She was the granddaughter of Gillian and Al Charbonneau, Divakar Chandran, and Dudley and Judy Hauser. Following the birth of Isabel's younger sister, Mary, the family moved to Kennebunk in 2004. Isabel died in her home in Kennebunk Maine, from sudden cardiac arrest on the morning of April 19, 2023.
Isabel attended Cocoons Day School and the Kennebunk public schools, graduating as Salutatorian in 2019. She had been pursuing a Bachelors of Nursing at the University of Southern Maine with plans to become a nurse practitioner specializing in pediatric oncology. She was a member of the Honors College and was attending on a full scholarship. She was a member of the Alpha Xi Delta service sorority.
Isabel was an extraordinarily kind, gentle, and generous person. She was deeply loved and touched the lives of many whom she met. She had family and friends across the globe from England and Scotland, to India, to Virginia, to the Midwest, across this state and beyond. She was an exceptional student: hardworking, earnest, conscientious and well-organized. She loved, and was gifted in her ability, to help her siblings and friends study. She demonstrated remarkable perseverance and strength in her life.
Isabel adored, and was adored by, animals of all sorts, including the family dogs, especially Sandhya and little Max, and the abandoned rabbit, Dahlia, adopted from the Animal Welfare Society. She loved swimming with seals off the Orkney coast. She loved listening to Taylor Swift and enjoyed playing Scrabble and Set, at which she was formidable. She tremendously enjoyed Grey’s Anatomy. She had been an avid reader from her early childhood, with frequent family trips to the Kennebunk Free Library and Barnes and Noble. Her favorite author was Sarah J. Maas. She loved special coffee drinks from Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks, and always wanted to share them with her family. She was a beautiful dancer, first pursuing ballet and more recently modern and lyrical, at which she excelled. Isabel played the piano from the age of 5 and created beautiful, lyrical compositions. She was afraid of spiders. She was always on time, like her grandmother. She loved traveling, especially to the Orkney Islands, Scotland, where many of her childhood summers were spent.
Dearest Isabel, we miss you. We will always miss you. You made this world a more loving and beautiful place, and you left it too soon. We love you.
A funeral service will be held at Saint David’s Church, Kennebunk, at 11 AM, May 25th, 2023, followed by a reception at the family home.
