Obituary for Isabelle Dumais (Hubert)
Isabelle Dumais, 86, of Kennebunkport, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on April 11, 2022. She was born September 7, 1935 in Kennebunk to Lester and Annette (Bernier) Hubert.
Isabelle attended local Kennebunk schools. She worked at Kesslen Shoe and Morningstar for a number of years before spending 25 years with Antiques USA until her retirement at the age of 82. She married Arthur Dumais in February of 1954 at a family property in Kennebunk.
Isabelle was a hard worker and had a strong personality but was slight in frame. She was very outspoken and not afraid to let people know what she was thinking. She enjoyed dot-to-dot puzzles, solitaire and was an avid romance novel reader. Her biggest enjoyment came from spending time with her family.
Isabelle was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Annette Hubert; husband of 47 years, Arthur Dumais; granddaughter, Jamie Tripp; two brothers; and 5 sisters. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Couture and her husband, Richard of McCaysville, GA and Kathy Hirst and her husband, John of Kennebunkport, ME; sisters, Nancy Hubbard of Rhode Island and Rosalie Cray and her husband, Gary of Ogunquit, ME; three grandchildren, Chad Tripp of Kennebunkport, ME, Shayne Hirst and his wife Jennifer of Kennebunkport, ME, and Jolene Hirst and her wife, Tracy of Kennebunkport, ME; three great-grandchildren, Brady Hirst of North Berwick, ME, Jacob Beaulieu of Kennebunkport, ME, and Isabella Hirst of North Berwick, ME; and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held from 3:00 – 5:00 PM on Monday, April 18, 2022 at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer St. in Kennebunk. A graveside service will take place at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at Pine Grove Cemetery, 163 Alfred Rd., Kennebunk.
