Obituary for Jacob Daniel "Jake" McCarthy

Jacob “Jake” Daniel McCarthy, 27, of Kennebunkport, passed away February 4, 2022. He was born April 15, 1994 in Rochester, NH to Michael and Denise (Guay) McCarthy.

Jacob graduated from Noble High School in North Berwick, ME and attended South Central Louisiana Technical College in Morgan City, LA. He worked for many construction companies but his main trade and source of pride was being a Certified Commercial Diver.

Jacob was an adventurous outdoorsman who loved everything in the New England landscape. He was a very caring and protective son, brother, partner, and friend that could be counted on when needed. He was brilliant, strong, stubborn, crafty and so very loved. His infectious laugh made everyone around him laugh with him.

Jacob enjoyed spending his time hunting, fishing, hiking, traveling, swimming, boating, and skiing. He could fix anything and build most anything.

Jacob was preceded in death by his grandmother, Nancy McCarthy. He is survived by his loving partner, Audrey Gorman; mother, Denise McCarthy; father, Michael McCarthy; brothers, Jonathan McCarthy and Joshua McCoy; sister, Melissa (McCoy) Paré; nephews, Alexander McCoy Boutwell and Bastille Paré; niece, Bianca Paré; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

If desired, donations may be made in Jake’s name at give.nationalparks.org.

A private memorial will be held in April for family and close friends.
