On Friday, December 9, 2022, James A. Spofford, 85, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side. Born on July 7, 1937 in Hillsboro, NH, Jim spent most of his youth in Bennington, VT, graduating from Bennington High School in 1957. Jim was employed by Globe Union in Bennington throughout his entire career. After an early retirement, Jim enjoyed working at The Equinox Golf Couse in Manchester. Jim loved the outdoors, especially golfing and hunting. More than anything, Jim was a true family man. He was kind and generous, and all who met him immediately loved him.

Jim was predeceased by: his father, Roy Spofford; mother, Helena (Quackenbush) Spofford; brother, Avery “Touk” Spofford; sister, Beatrice “Bea” Lancto; and his beloved wife of over 50 years, Merriom (Read) Spofford. He is survived by: his sons, Raymond and his wife Sandy and Steven and his wife, Megan; grandchildren, Jacob, Noel and Ainsley Spofford; step-grandchildren, Chuck Lashinsky and Katie Baggs; and several nieces and nephews.

A private funeral will be held for family.
