Obituary for Jordan William Hanscom

Jordan William Hanscom, a native and resident of Kennebunk, ME passed away unexpectedly on January 30, 2022. He was 33.

Born May 17, 1988 to parents William R. Hanscom and Andra-Lee Black Hanscom, he attended Kennebunk High School and later received his GED in 2006. He went on to enroll in York County Community College in Wells where he studied Culinary Arts. He used his great skills at many family gatherings, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Jordan loved and enjoyed his church family at Kennebunk Baptist Church, where he found a great deal of comfort and care from members of “His Church.” A special heartfelt thank you to his church family, and especially to Reverend James King, and his son Phil King for the love and guidance provided to Jordan. He was greatly appreciative of the care and wisdom you shared with him, and for always being willing to give him your time.

Jordan loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. That was his ‘peaceful place’ where he shared many wonderful, happy times with his valued and loved friends and cousins. He will be truly missed by all of his family and friends, and he will never be forgotten.

He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by: his sister Elaine Dement of Baird, TX; his aunt Lucille Hanscom of Zephyr Hills, FL; his uncle Donald Turgeon of Eliot, ME; his nieces - Alexa and Lyla Tenaglia of Baird, TX; his cousins - Jason E. Turgeon and his partner Lisa Addison of Eliot, ME and Jamie Turgeon and his fiancée Michelle Dias of Revere, MA; and several family members across Canada, The Bahamas, and in London, UK.

A brief graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at Evergreen Cemetery in Kennebunk, ME. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Kennebunk Baptist Church – Historical Preservation Fund, P.O. Box 396, Kennebunk, ME 04043.
