Obituary for Kimberlee A. "Lee" Cressey Warner
Lee Cressey passed away peacefully on April 5, 2021 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice in Scarborough after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born on September 8, 1963, the daughter of Janis and Churchill Cressey and married the love of her life, Dan Warner, in 2017.
Lee made friends easily. She was always cheerful and willing to tackle any project. Spending time on her farm with her animals and sitting in the sun feeling the warm breeze on her face brought her happiness, as did going to the beach with her dog Maggie Mae. She loved her community, and they loved her right back. Their many messages of support brought her comfort and hope throughout her illness.
Lee grew up in Kennebunk and graduated from Kennebunk High School. She attended Westbrook Junior College and served on the Kennebunk Fire/Rescue as a licensed ambulance attendant for a number of years. For over 21 years, Lee has been a go-to person at Kennebunk Ace Hardware. She will be remembered for knowing where everything was in the store and patiently answering questions. Her cheerful, sweet attitude won the hearts of her customers. It’s certain that she is smiling down with a twinkle in her eye as she watches people tackle their projects and figure out their paint colors without her!
Lee was predeceased by her parents, Janis and Churchill Cressey, and her step-mother, Phebe Cressey. She is survived by her loving husband, Dan Warner of Arundel; her brother and sister-in-law, George and Susan Cressey, of Kennebunk; a sister, Melissa Jackson, of Wells; and a step-brother, Robert Akers, of Kennebunk. She is also survived by her mother and father-in-law, Claudette and Roy Warner, as well as brothers-in-law, Dennis and David Warner. Lee loved her nephews, Brian (Christine) Cressey, Eric (Anna) Cressey, and Kyle Jackson. She adored her great nieces and nephew.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, April 16, 2021 from 4-6 PM at the Bibber Memorial Chapel at 67 Summer St in Kennebunk. CDC guidelines will be followed with masks required and a limit of 50 people at one time. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73123, indicating that they are to be used for ovarian cancer research in memory of Lee Cressey.
