My sincere condolences to the family of my oldest friend, Laura Schoff Atkinson. I know that she loved all of you and know that this is a difficult time for you now, but I know you will continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
We first met at Sunday School in West Kennebunk, Maine and then were together in school our entire lives. Laura was always a kind friend, helpful, thoughtful and had a good sense of humor and a great laugh. We had gotten out of touch with one another after we graduated from high school and went our separate ways but did reconnect throughout our lives. When we did reconnect, we just picked up our friendship as if there had not been any separation. With both of us having children and grandchildren we would discuss our family and make suggestions to one another in times of need. We talked about everything. I loved her dearly.
The last several years my husband and I had been visiting with Laura occasionally and also would call one another. It was great to see her and to talk with her and see how she was doing. One of our best times together was going to our 50th high school reunion! We had a good time visiting and seeing our old classmates, how everyone had changed and what they were up to at this time of their lives.
My husband and I will miss her, but she is in our thoughts and prayers daily and I know that she is not hurting any longer.
May your memories of your mother, grandmother and great grandmother, sister and aunt, cousin, be happy ones as she would like to be remembered.
Please all take care of yourselves.
Sincerely,
Marsha & Richard Guerette
LF
