Lisa Mae Yaffe, a native of Newton, MA and resident of Wells, ME, died after a brief illness on May 3, 2022. She was 56 years old.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Daigle and her father Alan W. Yaffe.
She is survived by: her mother Harriet (Winer) Yaffe of Del Ray Beach, FL; her sister Susan Paradis, her husband Adrien, and their son A.J., all of Plainville, CT; her aunt Maxine Jacobson of Del Ray Beach, FL and Chicago, IL; her cousins – Michael Barber, his wife Heather, and their children Samuel and Elias, all of Chicago, IL, and Meredith Fitsimmons, and her husband Tom, and their children Emma and Jamie, all of Evanston, IL; and several dedicated friends – Peter Corbett of Gorham, ME, Sheryl Harmon of Waterville, ME, Jean Beattie of Wells, ME, and Pam Hurd of Cornish, ME.
Lisa loved gardening and would sit for hours building rock walls, planting or re-planting wildflowers to hosta to any and all flowering plants. Her love of birds was contagious. She knew every name and if she didn’t she would find out immediately. She was an incredible home designer and had an eclectic assortment of the most unique things, but she made it all work to become such a welcoming home. She will truly be missed.
In honor of her love of animals, especially her beloved cat Jake and dog Shakira, memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Welfare Society, PO Box 43, West Kennebunk, ME 04094.
