Obituary for Paul William Christiansen
Paul William Christiansen of Burlington, MA and Wells, ME passed away one day after his 80th birthday on Tuesday May 16th, 2023 following a long battle with cancer.
Paul was born May 15th 1943 in Woburn, the son of Niels and Ellen Mckee Christiansen, and a graduate of Burlington High School. He served in the Massachusetts National Guard and then followed his 3 brothers into law enforcement where he was a police officer for 26 years for the town of Burlington.
With his generous personality, Paul was involved in many community events. He initiated a food pantry for the town of Burlington which is still in operation today. ( "People helping People" ). He was the president of the municipal Employees Credit Union. He was named Outstanding Citizen of the year as well, all for the town of Burlington, MA.
Paul loved to play Santa each season, bringing magic and hope to thousands of children throughout the years.
Paul is predeceased by his 3 brothers, Kurt, Arnie, and Norman Christiansen of Burlington, MA.
Beloved husband of Joan Christiansen of Burlington and Wells. He was the loving father of Michael Grady of Andover, Ma, Heather Clements of Charlton, Ma, Niels Christiansen of Lowell, Ma, Michelle Grady and Lynne Ayvasian. Paul was also a wonderful step-father to Ellen Sargent (deceased) of Concord, NH, Mark Mckeon of Nashua, NH and Stacey Mckeon of Methuen, Ma. Paul also had 15 grandchildren and three great-grandsons.
He was the devoted brother to Carl Christiansen also of Burlington, MA.
Services to be held at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 111 Chapel Road, Wells Me 04090, on Friday May 26th, 2023, at 11:00am.
