Paul Joseph King, 87, a native of Framingham, MA and resident of Wells, ME passed away on August 6, 2022.
After retiring from The Town of Framingham Parks and Recreation Department as a heavy equipment operator, he and his wife Marilyn moved to Wells, Maine. Being seasonal residents at Beach Acres since 1972, they knew they wanted to spend their retirement years together by the seacoast. They enjoyed riding bikes, walking on the Marginal Way, and dining out together. In his later years, Paul took comfort in the company of his family and his cat, Spike. He will be remembered by those who knew and loved him as a man of quiet dignity.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Henry and Isabel (Harrington) King; his brother, Henry E. King, Jr.; his sister, Mary King Makie; and his daughter-in-law, Barbara Cyr Riley.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marilyn (Brown) King; his children – David Riley, Cheryl Riley and her longtime partner, Dave Morrell, Paula Schumaker and her husband, Jack; his grandchildren – Caitlyn Belcher and her husband, Tim, Michelle and Jonathan Riley, Tyler and Jake Schumaker; and his great-grandchildren – McKenna, Daken, and Raylee Belcher.
A memorial service will be held at St. Mary’s Church, 236 Eldridge Rd, Wells, ME at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2022.
