Paul Martin Kuell, 82, of Kennebunk, left this world on Friday, October 30, 2020 at Southern Maine Healthcare in Biddeford. He rejoins his beloved wife Diana who predeceased him less than two weeks ago. Theirs was truly a love story. Paul was born in Marblehead, MA on April 1, 1938, the only child of Paul Swasey and Bee (Lundy) Kuell. On January 23, 1959, Paul married the former Diana Jean (Hall) and they settled in Massachusetts. Together, they raised 6 children, and were never far apart from each other.

Paul enjoyed a 43-year career with General Electric, rising from an entry level worker to Plant Manager.

Paul loved to play golf and was an avid sports fan. He loved the Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics, and all college basketball. Paul and Diane loved to travel. And whether it was for work or pleasure, Paul made lifelong friendships.

Paul is survived by his sons, Christopher Kuell and his wife, Christine, of Danbury, CT, Michael Kuell and his wife, Jennifer, of Brookline, MA and Jonathan Kuell and his wife, Maureen, of South Portland, ME; his daughters, Catherine Halchak and her husband, Kenneth, of West Chester, OH and Sandra Feltus of Kennebunk, ME; 12 grandchildren, Adam, Eric, Nicholas, Grace, Kiana, Raven, Sage, Curtis, Brooke, Anna, Brendan and Zora; 5 great grandchildren, Jaxson, Lucas, Benjamin, Sophia and Theodore; and two very special people that he and Diana helped raise, Scott Keim and Lisa Patey.

A private funeral mass will be held.

Should friends desire, memorial donations may be made to: American Cancer Society, One Bowdoin Mill Island, Suite 300, Topsham, ME 04086.

My sincerest condolences to the Kuell family, I'm so sorry for your tremendous loss. I worked as an MMP at GE Fitchburg 25 years ago. It was my first year out of college and "Papa Kuell", as we MMP's called him, was so kind and supportive to me, a timid new employee. My favorite memory of that time was him taking a group of us out to lunch at his favorite Italian restaurant that happened to use tons of garlic, which he was very excited about...said we would all smell afterwards, but that it was worth it! :) I was only stationed in Fitchburg for one year, but Paul made an enormous positive impact on me. I had the honor of emailing back and forth with him several times over the years to catch up...most recently this past May. He was truly a bright spot in this world and he has left a lasting impression. -Maria Leon

We were so very sorry to hear of Paul's passing. His hearty, growling laughter was always appreciated during the days we worked with him at GE in Fitchburg, MA. Such a lovely person. Please accept our sincere sympathy. Lois Ford and Lou Ciercielli

To the family of Paul and Diana sincerest condolences not only of the loss of your mother, but your father as well in such a short time. I am so glad that I was able to visit with both of them some time ago. I worked with your Dad at GE for many years and he was so full of life ! We maintained that friendship after the facility closed up until his passing last week. He was a good man and will be so sadly missed. He is now with your Mom and brother, filling Heaven with his presence. Carmela

To all assorted Kuell’s, my deepest sympathies. Your Dad (and Mom) were so proud of you all. I always loved getting the rundown of what you all were doing over gym visits, mountain biking adventures, or a round of golf. I feel blessed that I got a visit in shortly before COVID hit. Both Paul and Diana were such special people, and I will sorely miss them both. Sending lots of hugs and prayers to you all. Lynn and Ken Kisselbach
