Obituary for Priscilla Janice Daly (Maden)

Priscilla Janice Daly, 80, of Kennebunk, passed away April 6, 2023. A loving mother, wife, sister, and friend, she was born February 7, 1943 in Lynn, MA to Harold and Jean Maden (Watson).

Priscilla graduated from Deering High School in Portland in 1960. She proceeded to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in French from University of Maine Orono and a Master’s Degree in Education from Southern Connecticut State University. She married Richard Daly June 8, 1968 in Connecticut, and worked as an Elementary School Teacher, and then a Bookkeeper for Richard’s psychiatry practice and as a devoted Homemaker to her husband and children.

Priscilla was a loving mother. She was very easy-going, never raised her voice and continually had a positive outlook on life. She loved spending time at the family camp in Dexter, ME, and enjoyed time outside, especially hiking, biking, and sailing. She was an avid Red Sox fan, loved playing the flute, and volunteered her time as a Sunday School Teacher and with community musical theatre.

Priscilla was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Jean Maden. She is survived by: her husband, Richard Daly of Kennebunk; children, Nathaniel Daly and his wife, Hester Muis of New York, NY; Allison Daly of Takoma Park, MD; and Matthew Daly and his wife, Brittny, of Eliot, ME; sisters, Carol Smith of Portland, ME and Judy Pickard and her husband, William, of East Lake, FL; grandchildren, Alexandra, Nicholas, Emerson, Miles, Porter, and Samson; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of all those who loved her. Her memory will be cherished by her family and friends, who will always remember her kindness, her warmth, and her love.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Priscilla’s name to National Multiple Sclerosis Society at www.nationalmssociety.org.

A private graveside service will be held at Hope Cemetery in Kennebunk.
