1943 – 2020

Robert L. Bartlett, 77 years, of Wells, passed away into the hands of God March 24, 2020.

Bob was born February 3, 1943 in Wareham, MA, a son of the late Lewis and Bertha (Laine) Bartlett. Bob joined the Naval Reserves as a senior in high school and then enlisted in the Navy after graduation. He went to nuclear power school and halfway through completion, married his high school sweetheart, Pamela Young on October 12, 1963. Bob and Pam enjoyed 56 years of marriage and raised their two sons. Bob served 23 years in the United States Navy. He retired September 1983 from the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, where he made sure the nuclear powered submarines went back to sea safely.

Bob was an avid outdoorsman and taught his sons and grandchildren how to hunt and fish, tie flies and build their own fishing rods. He loved his family.

Bob was a member of the Wells Elks Lodge #2738 and the Kennebunk Fish and Game Club.

Bob is lovingly remembered by his wife, Pam; his sons, Robert L. Bartlett, Jr. and his wife, Terri, of Wells and her three children, Matthew, Kelsey and Eric, and John Bartlett and his wife, Donna, of Wells and their two children, Tyler and Lauren; his sister, Beverly Bartlett and her life partner, Donna Kennedy, of East Blue Hill; one nephew and several nieces.
