Obituary for Sally Elizabeth Patterson Day
Sally Elizabeth Patterson Day died peacefully in Kennebunk, Sat. May 6, 2023 after a full life of 93 years.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 72 years, Bill, and her 3 children: Deborah Day Treece (Randy) of Latham N.Y., Kiki Day-Knaggs (George) of Louisville, Colo., and Andy Day (Lisa) of Montclair, N.J. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Sally grew up in many different areas of the country (even Hawaii!), went to Bethesda Chevy Chase High School, then graduated from Duke University in 1950. She married Bill, and they settled down in Kennebunk. Family gathered in the summers to spend golden days on the beach, with kids everywhere. In later years, she loved gazing out at the ocean and admiring the eider ducks, and visiting with anyone who would come by.
She was gracious and kind and will be greatly missed. A reception will be held in her honor at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer St, Kennebunk, Maine on Sunday May 21, 2023 from 1 PM to 3 PM.
