Obituary for Shane Whorton

Shane Whorton
Shane Whorton, 52, of Kennebunk, died Thursday, August 20, 2020 at Southern Maine Healthcare in Biddeford following a brief illness. He is survived by his two children, Claudia & Jaxxen Whorton. Shane was born in Arkansas to Loretta Foley and John Whorton. He grew up in Portland, Maine but Arkansas always remained close to his heart. It wasn't until later in his life that he would fully re-connect with his Arkansas family. His father and step-mom, Kathy gave him two sisters, Natalie and Priscilla. He loved his grandmother and looked up to his uncles, giving Jaxxen "David" as a middle name.
Loretta married John "Jack" Foley and Shane loved him as a Dad, growing up with his son Stephen like a brother. Shane grew up with three sisters, Crystal, Jade and Heather. They all looked out for each other and continued to do so throughout their lives. He loved his nephews and tried to be the kind of uncle he had always hoped to be.
In 1999 Shane married Rebecca Jennings and gained another family. More sisters, lol. Suellen, Kelly Melissa and Amanda. He loved his mother-in -law, Dawn who he still called "Mom" to this day. Claudia Nicole was born in 2000 and Jaxxen David in 2006. Shane and Rebecca divorced in 2007, but he didn't really lose this family.
Shane applied to a job at Corning in Kennebunk, 23 years ago and gained yet another family. He made friendships there that have lasted all these years. Shane loved the New York Giants, his Harley, having lunch with a friend, watching a Marvel movie with Jaxxen, going shopping with Claudia, but mostly just being a Dad.
His dream was to build a home on his land in Arkansas and live a peaceful, quiet life. He will be laid to rest with his grandmother, where it is peaceful and quiet.
