Obituary

Kennebunk, Maine, Stephanie J Cole, 89 yrs. a longtime resident of Kennebunk died Saturday August 8, 2020 at the Gosnell Hospice House in Scarborough after lengthy illness.
Stephanie was born in Northvale, New Jersey on November 27, 1930 a daughter of Salvatore and Anna (Barbiglia) Bono and attended schools there.
Stephanie was longtime homemaker and raised three beloved children and she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She was a longtime member of the Holy Spirit Parish of St Martha’s Catholic Church of Kennebunk.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Fred D. Cole who died in 1993 and six brothers and sisters; Louis Bono, John Bono, Ann Jirrels, Josephine Chiardusse, Ida Wyman and Virginia Trott.
She is survived by her two sons Keith F. Cole of Kennebunk and Dana F. Cole of Sebago, a daughter Stephanie Cole Brown and her husband David of Woodbridge VA; a sister Mary Rhodes of VA; four grandchildren and one great granddaughter as well as many nieces and nephews. She also survived by her brother in law David Cole of West Kennebunk and sister in law Katie Ames of Kennebunk.
Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Should friends desire memorial donations may be made to the Animal Welfare Society P.O. Box 43 West Kennebunk, Maine 04094 or to the Hospice of Southern Maine 180 US Route One Scarborough, Maine 04074-9925 in Mrs. Cole’s memory .

Stephanie will be greatly missed. She was the sweetest neighbor and always inviting me to visit and socializing with our dogs. She always amazed me with her independence and strength. She will be missed!
