Obituary for Sybil Whitehead Dupuis (Scott)

Sybil W. Dupuis, 90, a resident of Wells, passed away suddenly at her home on Sunday, November 5, 2023.

Sybil was born December 20, 1932 in Arlington, MA, the daughter of Dean and Cherrie (Whitehead) Scott, and is a graduate of Winchester High School in Winchester NH, and Colby Sawyer College.

She was a longtime lab technician with York Hospital and worked 10 years with Goodall Hospital in Sanford before retiring.

While Sybil has been a longtime resident of Wells, she briefly moved to St. Petersburg, FL before returning to Wells.

As an active, longtime member of the Congregational Church of Wells, she was the church organist and served on several committees of the church. She was also a member of the former Wells Grange.

She is predeceased by her son, Jeff Scott Thompson, who died in 1992.

Survivors include her son Kent P. Thompson of Wells, her daughter Cynthia W. Thompson of Lynnhaven, FL, and two grandchildren, Hunter Thompson and fiancé Alyssa Dodds and Camre Thompson and husband Nico Evans.

Friends are invited to visiting hours to be held 1 to 3 PM Sunday, November 12, 2023 at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 111 Chapel Rd, Wells. A memorial service will be held 11 AM Monday, November 13, 2023 at the Congregational Church of Wells, Post Rd, Wells. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Winchester, NH on Tuesday.
