I met Lou when I was a regular for breakfast at the Wayfairer back in the 1980's. I found him to be very kind. When he learned that I was a Chicago Cubs fan, he gave me a Ron Santo baseball bat. I still have it and of course thought of Lou when the Cubs finally won the World Series last year. He was a gentleman and a very interesting and knowledgeable person.
