Barbara Jean (Kimball) Healy, 70, of Punta Gorda, FL and Acton, ME passed away Tuesday Morning, October 10, 2017, at her summer home following her recent battle with cancer.
Barb was born September 26, 1947 in Bellows Falls, Vermont, the daughter of Juanita & Frank Kimball, and was a graduate of McMurray College, Jacksonville, IL in 1969.
She married her husband, Richard K Healy on July 11, 1970, and they began their lives together residing first in Connecticut for 12 years, where she was a teacher in Newtown, CT schools during the 1970’s, before moving to Kennebunk for 33 years, raising their family and enjoying life the way it should be with friends.
In Maine, Barb pursued a career in real estate for 17 years, was an avid reader who loved a good book and a card player who loved a good game of bridge. A beach, a pool, and Mousam Lake on a sunny day were all made for her to enjoy.
Barb is predeceased by her father Frank Morrill Kimball.
Survivors include her husband, Richard; her daughter Allison Stevens of Kennebunk and husband, Randy; her son, Christopher Healy of East Hampton, CT and wife Karen; four grandchildren, Andrew Stevens, Madison Stevens, Michaela Healy and Danielle Healy; her mother Juanita (Hinds) Kimball of Keene, New Hampshire, and her sister Diane Ackley of Merrimack, New Hampshire.
Friends are invited to visit with the family 10 – 11 AM, Friday, October 13, 2017, followed by a memorial service celebrating Barb’s life at 11AM Friday, at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer St. in Kennebunk. Interment will follow in Hope Cemetery, Kennebunk.
