Obituary for Richard M. "Dick" Beaudoin Sr.

Richard M. "Dick" Beaudoin Sr.
KENNEBUNKPORT

Richard Marcel “Dick” Beaudoin, 74, died Monday evening at his residence following a brief period of failing health.

Dick was born July 1, 1943 in Biddeford, the son of Charles and Marion Germaine Gregoire Beaudoin, and attended schools in Maine and Connecticut. He eventually earned his GED from Kennebunk High School.

On July 4, 1967, he married Joan Ellen May.

A lifelong hard worker, usually working 2 fulltime jobs, Dick was employed by the Saco Tannery, Simplex/Tyco Co, Arlen Box in Kennebunk, and Nike.

He was a collector of Fine Used Objects, and would have a circuit of flea markets where he would sell his collection. Instilling his belief in hard work in his children, he usually planted a large garden, and would pay each of them for every bug they picked off the plants. Dick also enjoyed taking family vacations to Florida, and would go hunting and fishing with his grandchildren when he found the time.

He is predeceased by his wife Joan E. May Beaudoin, who died in 2014.

Survivors include his daughter, Michelle Taylor and her companion Robert Mabry of Biddeford; two sons, Richard Marcel Beaudoin, Jr. and his companion David Sullivan of Saco, and Norman Beaudoin and his wife Jodie of Kennebunkport; his grandchildren, Nathan Taylor, Casey Taylor, Taylor Beaudoin, Laila Beaudoin and Tyson Beaudoin.

A private family ceremony will be planned.
